With the temperatures forecasted higher, it is time to start preparing yourself on how to stay focused and energized as the heat beats down on you. Irrespective of your fitness level, your body will need to stay hydrated to work at full capacity. As you use energy each day, the body has to work harder to keep up with the physical demands that are made more difficult with heat and humidity. In general, most people have experienced mild to moderate dehydration. Symptoms of this are: dry mouth, bright yellow urine, and reduction of sweat the body produces to preserve water. Other noticeable sign of dehydration is reduction in energy level and mental collapse. It may sound simple but drinking enough water and electrolytes when you are tired is not enough. Make sure to drink a lot of water when you wake up in the morning.
Keep this is mind each day: Health authorities have suggested 8 glasses measuring 8 fluid ounces should be the minimum*. Now is the time! Stay focused! Stay Hydrated!!
*Excluding coffee and other diuretics.
