Business student, Jim Collins, wrote a best seller several years ago regarding companies that transitioned from good to great. Employees of these companies described their CEOs as having large measures of humility and leading their companies toward sustained growth by doing what they could with what they had to make their customers’ lives better.
Humility means living within our abilities. Successful golfers understand their abilities and play within themselves, and sometimes lay up like David Toms did in winning the 2001 PGA Championship.
Humility, one of our core values, guides us as we strive to serve our customers as best we can with what we have. We can’t replicate the experience of playing outdoors on a beautiful June morning, but we do a great job simulating golf courses that dad and mom can play together with their children on any Saturday morning.
Many companies often put a high priority on getting ahead of their competitors by whatever means necessary. Humility suggests that we simply try doing a better job serving our employees and customers.
How may we serve you today?
