Golf has taken many knocks over the six years we’ve been in business. In hindsight perhaps this wasn’t the best time to start a new way to learn and play the game. But, then again is there ever a “perfect time” to start something new? Over the years thousands have entered our door and to most we simply ask, “And, do you play?” Often they shake their head no and offer a reason why they haven’t taken up the game – YET. Here are the more common reasons we’ve heard:
- Too Hard.Indeed, the pros on tour make the game look real easy. But that’s not how they learned. For example, one wouldn’t learn to play baseball by walking onto the field and taking four-time Golden Glove winner, Jimmy Rollins’ place at short-stop. Yet, many think nothing of borrowing a set of clubs and heading for the golf course. The harder they try, the worse they perform. Not a good way to start. Golf is a series of taking one confident swing after another. Build confidence indoors then head to the course. By the way, at Play-a-Round Golf no one will know if you’re teeing off from the Junior Tees.
- Takes Too Long. Indeed few of us have six hours to play 18 holes on the weekend. Trying to squeeze in 9 holes after work can be difficult with work, family, and other interests. Don’t have much time? Our more experienced guests play a round in one hour per person with many groups playing even faster. How fast can you play? Don’t worry, we’ll keep track of all your shots so you can easily find your ball.
- Too Expensive. One doesn’t expect to eat fine dining for McDonald’s prices. Golf needs more “McDonald’s level” offerings to keep its customers coming back each week. At Play-a-Round Golf, we charge our guests by the time they want to spend and not one penny more. Book an hour or two. Have fun. We want you back.
